Dear Friend of the Arts,
At a recent gathering of Columbus Children’s Choir alumni, I found myself
incredibly humbled by the love of music that these young people have carried
into their lives as adults. Some of them are actively involved in teaching music
while others take joy in singing whenever and wherever they have the
opportunity. One of the trademark songs of our organization is “See the Through
Children’s Eyes” by John Carter. We had only been together for a few moments
when their voices joined together in singing this very special song. It was then
that I looked down at the next generation of our organization, the seven week
old baby of one of our former singers and I knew, in that moment, that every
meeting, concert, fundraiser and rehearsal had been worth it.
See the World through Children’s Eyes
Everyday a sweet surprise, tomorrows dreams are like good friends
It seems like waiting never ends
Over the last eleven years, our organization has grown from three to nine choirs
and a young musicians program. The number of children that we have been able to
expose to music and culture from all over the world is simply amazing, but we
would not be able to provide that education without your dedication and
financial support.
Greet the world as children would with hope for all that’s true and good
With faith in what you can not see, with love for life and living free
Give the children time and space, let them find their special place
As we begin planning for our twelfth season, we need your support more than ever
before. Many of our families struggle with the cost of tuition and we struggle
to keep that cost affordable for them. Tuition money only covers 40% of our
budget, and with more scholarship singers than we have ever had it is more
critical than ever that we receive assistance from our friends.
Let our eyes be as children’s are, ever searching for a star
Ever searching for a star
We believe that quality arts are essential to one’s life. We hope you will share
in our belief and support this incredible group of children.
Respectfully,
Sandra Mathias
