Pinta Choir Notes:  April 20, 2008

Hello, Pintonians!

Ok, OK so it's been a month since I've done this; my how time flies!

As you know, we are meeting at COSI to sing on Friday evening. Our call time is 5:30; we're done by 8:00/  Sometime in that window we will sing our pieces.  The rest of the time we'll be able to explore the COSI complex.  Wear black pants and your red t-shirt.  We must have everyone there, please!  We can't afford to lose even one singer at this point.  If you are having an issue, please contact me ASAP.

Here's what we will be singing:  Solfege Canon, This Little Light of Mine, Look at the World, Route 66 and Hand Me Down My Silver Trumpet.  If you do not already have these memorised, then do it between now and Friday.  This should be a lot of fun, and a chance for you to show all you've learned this year.

A word about auditions.  They are ongoing.  Know that some singers will be moved on to the Santa Maria choir, and some I will recommend continue with the Pinta choir.  This outcome depends upon your child's ability to sing from sight, and to carry their own part.  A number of our singers still need work on these skills.  It is not a reflection on their effort or their attitude; we all progress at different rates and sometimes we need extra time to master a skill compared to others.  For example, I've been working on my guitar skills for several years now, and I am still working on year one stuff.  I'll get to level two eventually, but I need more time in to get there.  That doesn't discourage me, or cause me to want to quit guitar, I just know I'm not ready to go out and do any gigs anytime soon.  If you have any questions or concerns, don't hestitate to call me.

The code word for this week is:  COSI
